Momentum Utilities 'ValetMiner' to incorporate
Datawatchs report mining technology.
Licensing agreement adds report mining
and business intelligence capabilities to a
premier iSeries report writing suite
May 26th, 1998
--- Wilmington, Ma; London, UK - Datawatch Corp, a leading innovator in
business intelligence and helpdesk software and Momentum Utilities, a top developer and
supplier of data retrieval and presentation products for the IBM iSeries
market, today
announced a strategic technology licensing agreement. Under the agreement Momentum will
market Datawatchs Monarch report mining technology to the IBM iSeries
marketplace
under the name ValetMiner.
|
|
|
|
|
| ValetMiner will be
marketed as an integral part of Momentums client-server data access and reporting
solution, OPEN/DB. The
combination of ValetMiner
and OPEN/DB will deliver
an ideal hybrid reporting solution allowing users to develop new reports as required with OPEN/DB while ValetMiner will let users
turn a static paper report into a live document that can be queried, manipulated and
analyzed. With ValetMiner,
data that was previously locked into hardcopy reports comes alive as powerful business
intelligence. Because ValetMiner
works with existing reporting systems, users can maximize their investment in existing IT
systems. ValetMiner
works with reports created on all iSeries reporting systems including reports created by OPEN/DB. |
|
|
|
| "There is a
considerable degree of synergy between our product lines," comments Keith
Dickins, managing director of Momentum. "OPEN/DB has long enabled users
to produce advanced reporting from their iSeries
database. With ValetMiner, our customers
can now analyze the data inherent in the iSeries
report itself. With OPEN/DB and ValetMiner
together, Momentum customers can have the best of both worlds: they can develop a new
report from scratch or extend the usefulness of an existing report whichever is the most
cost- and performance-effective approach." "This agreement with Momentum Utilities is a perfect fit for
Datawatch," said Scott Baker, director of strategic
relationships at Datawatch. "Moreover, it is exactly the kind of strategic
relationship we want to foster. The integration of our Monarch report mining technology
with Momentums iSeries reporting suite again demonstrates Datawatchs
partnership strategy is building strong momentum. In recent months, we have announced key
relationships with companies including IBM and Eastman Software. This agreement with
Momentum, an important global iSeries vendor, will move Monarch technology into even more
markets."
|
|
|
|
Through this
agreement, Momentum will offer an iSeries-to-PC data access solution that seamlessly
integrates its iSeries-based flagship products OPEN/DB,
Valet and Jacana, with Monarchs
report mining and report distribution capabilities. Momentums client-server
reporting system has been specifically enhanced to include facilities to easily download
selected iSeries reports for use with Monarchs desktop report mining technology.
